The Wedding Dress

The Wedding Dress, “edited by A Lady”, is a rare miniature book measuring just over 4 inches in height. Published in Boston in 1854, the book consists mostly of poems and prose written by women, including advice, encouragement, and anecdotes. The book also contains short works on marriage by Coleridge, Washington Irving, and Longfellow.

The dedication, presaging the tone of the material within, reads: “This Little Work is dedicated to Every Lady In The Land who entertains the hope of becoming possessor of the proudest title on earth, A Wife”
