> In the nooks and crannies of this library are caches of odd material, old machines, and unique artifacts. It’s precisely like going through an old mansion and making discoveries. With the help of our head of facilities (who has a penchant for old stuff), I discovered an old (1940s?) projector and a very sturdy wooden case of about 130 glass slides, picturing libraries around the world. The scans come out well enough to post a few. Here is a shot of the Providence Public Library (Central). The others are of the Cleveland Public Library (E 131st Street Branch), the Toronto Public Library (Danforth branch), the Chicago public library (Pullman branch), and a library in Viipuri, Finland.
